Anti-vibration boring bars with exchangeable turning heads
Ingersoll is introducing the T•ABSORBER line, a head exchangeable vibration free boring bar line for deep internal turning. Machining depth in internal turning differs according to the shank materials of bars used; steel boring bars are used up to 3xD (bar diameter) and carbide boring bars up to 5xD. Deep internal turning, however, is very difficult to machine even with carbide boring bars. With the T•ABSORBER’s damping system, Ingersoll has provided an internal turning solution up to 10xD. The T•ABSORBER’s damping system located inside the shank is capable of deep internal machining more than 5xD, this dramatic damping capability enables very good surface roughness of the workpiece and results in longer tool life and stable machining. It also means increased feed and cutting speed, making it more productive. Shanks for the T•ABSORBER line are available as standard items in 7 different diameters (Ø16, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 60 mm) and in 2 lengths (7xD, 10xD). The various exchangeable heads can be securely fastened with serrated couplings located in the boring bars.
High-feed turning positive inserts and holders
Ingersoll as released a new high-feed turning positive inserts and holders TurnSFeedF capable of both left and right bi-directional turning. To improve productivity, Ingersoll has released a high feed turning insert line demonstrating good chip control with holders which can machine both left and right directional turning applications without having to change the tool holder. The TurnSFeedF line enables both left and right directional turning using one neutral type of holder, and the positive-type insert is designed with anti-rotating grooves on the bottom side as well as strong screw clamping for more robust clamping that generates good performance during high-feed turning.
Double-sided 4 corners negative insert and holders
A new SuperTurnZ line for all-directional turning including high feed backward turning. Conventional turning requires the tool to move in one direction, then be exchanged to go in the reverse direction. As a result, productivity decreases with the increased downtime resulting from changing the tool. Ingersoll has solved this problem with the release of an innovative line that covers both forward and backward turning with one tool. The innovative ZNMV inserts and holders are capable of effective turning for longitudinal and facing operations in both forward and backward directions.
Back turning holders and inserts
The MiniTurn line now includes the latest PVD coated inserts specifically suited to back turning and holders. The inserts for the MiniTurn line’s back turning holders are located away from the guide bush. Therefore, the machining operation for finishing can be performed without retracting the workpiece from the guide bush. Further, the specialized insert edge geometry enables excellent precision and surface roughness. Back turning lines are a popular option for smaller size machining in industries ranging from automotive and medical to semiconductor manufacturing.
New turning chip breakers and grades for SWISS type automatic lathes
New turning chip breakers and grades in the turning MiniTurn lne for Swiss type automatic lathes. When machining small components in Swiss type automatic lathes, longer tool life, excellent surface roughness and good chip control are required under low machining conditions. In addition, when processing a variety of workpiece materials, an integrated grade is required without the need of grade replacement. In line with these demands, Ingersoll introduces a new PVD coating grades and new chip breakers that can be applied to various materials and cutting ranges.
TT3010 and TT3020 grades expanded to new items
Ingersoll has added new items to the PVD coated TT3010 and TT3020 grades for heat resistant super alloys machining.

Economical double-sided mini size inserts and holders
Ingersoll presents a new double-sided mini size insert and holder line, the RhinoTurnM, replacing standard positive small inserts. RhinoTurnM is a compact, double-sided mini size insert that is suitable for the internal and external turning of small parts and can replace standard positive small inserts like CCMT 06 and DCMT 07.
70 degree corner angle XNMG inserts and holders
Ingersoll presents a new RhinoTurnX line, the XNMG 70 degree corner angle insert and holder line. RhinoTurnX's XNMG insert has the advantages of both the CNMG and DNMG inserts, not only does it keep their advantages but the new line overcomes their shortcomings as well. The new RhinoTurnX line of inserts and holders is a multi-functional line that can be used for internal and external turning, face turning and profile turning.
Chip breakers FU and FS
Ingersoll has introduced two new chip breakers specifically for smaller-size products machining. The FU and FS chip breakers minimize the built-up-edges that occur during machining due to their sharp cutting edges which ensure longer tool life. Designed as double-sided, four-corner inserts, they are more economical than the existing positive inserts for Swiss turning.
Adapters for ISO turning holders
Ingersoll has launched new RhinoTurn adapters that enable the mounting of small size RhinoTurn inserts to existing ISO standard turning holders. Ingersoll’s economical smaller size RhinoTurn insert line provides strong and excellent machining performance versus ISO type inserts. However, the RhinoTurn insert line requires using specific RhinoTurn holders. Thus, Ingersoll has introduced RhinoTurn adapters that allow the use of RhinoTurn inserts without replacing the existing ISO turning holders. It permits end users to switch from the existing ISO type inserts to the higher performance RhinoTurn inserts. With the new RhinoTurn adapters, customers using existing ISO holders can apply and test RhinoTurn inserts without changing the holders. These holders are specifically designed for the RhinoTurn adapters that are compatible with lever type ISO turning holders.
TGB-TB Grooving blades and TTIR/L-TB boring bars
High pressure coolant CoolBurst line heightens T-Clamp family with release of two new tools. Ingersoll has added new parting and grooving blades as well as internal boring bars to the CoolBurst product line expanding the capabilities of the T-Clamp family of cutting tools.
Cartridges C-TCAHN-TB / C-TCAHPN-TB with high pressure coolant
New cartridge with high pressure coolant for parting and grooving. The new cartridge with high pressure coolant is capable of being correctly fitted to parallel type, perpendicular type holders as well as C-Adapters. With a wedge designed tightening structure, the new cartridge prevents vibrations during machining and ensures highly reliable performance with increased holder stiffness. High pressure coolant is sprayed directly to the cutting edge through the upper and lower channels, which increases the tool life and facilitates chip evacuation during machining operations. The new cartridge with high pressure coolant can be mounted to both the T-Clamp and GoldFlex lines.
Single-ended rigid inserts and holders SFER/L & SFGB
Ingersoll has launched the CUTSFeed, a new line of single-ended rigid inserts and holders for parting and deep grooving. For parting or deep grooving applications, single-ended self-grip inserts are generally used but are susceptible to vibrations due to structural weakness as well as unstable tool life and frequent breakage stemming from bad chip evacuation. The CUTSFeed line is designed as a thicker height insert and includes a specialized three-area contact with bottom-stopper, which is more robust and stable than the conventional self-grip type. Therefore, it enables improved surface roughness, insert position repeatability and tool life even under tough machining conditions. The holders are available in two types: a square shank type SFER/L, a blade type SFGB. All holders use the CoolBurst high pressure coolant system and come as standard products.
Mini size inserts and holders for internal shallow grooving
New MiniFlex inserts and holders for internal grooving of small diameters from Ø 8 mm In general, vibration and noise due to long overhang machining happens during small diameter internal grooving operations – a challenge that reduces tool life and machining surface roughness. To solve this problem, the MiniFlex is a small diameter internal grooving solution with a robust three-area contact structure of the insert and holder for the prevention of possible vibration and holder breakage during internal grooving operations. The TMIS 8 inserts also ensure the repeatability of the position of the insert’s cutting edge and offers excellent surface finish and durability. In addition, the insert is equipped with a neutral holder in four directions for easy set-up and stock management.

High feed CBN inserts for hardened materials
New T-ClampUltra+ CBN inserts for high feed turning and excellent machining surface finish of high-hardened workpiece materials. When excellent machining surface roughness is required in the high feed turning of high-hardened workpiece materials, the conventional solution is to use CBN turning inserts with a wiper. However, due to the excessive contact and bending by radial cutting forces at low depths of cut, there is a tendency to experience the issue of surface roughness deterioration of the workpiece. To solve this problem, Ingersoll provides a T-ClampUltra+ CBN insert which is designed to enable bi-directional high feed turning and obtain the effect of superior surface finish due to the natural bending of the T-ClampUltra+ holder during machining.
